Healthy Eating

 There are a number of different styles of eating that may help to protect your & general health including heart health

The Australian Guide to Healthy Eating is based on nutritional requirements for Australians

There has been interest in the Mediterranean Diet which studies have demonstrated to be an effective measure diet to reduce heart disease risk, inflammation and even cognition

More recently some promising evidence on a combination of the DASH & Mediterranean diet called the MIND diet has been successful in reducing incidence of Alzheimer's disease

Most of these diets  promote 

  • Plant based foods: vegetables & fruits, wholegrain breads & cereals.legumes & beans

  • Fish ( & less red meat)

  • Low fat dairy food

  • Healthy fats ( fish, olive oil,  nuts, seeds)
